How I strive to be a (more) sustainable photographer
Sustainability is very important for me, so I looked into how can that be achieved in photography.
What I’ve come to realize it that 100% sustainability is impossible to achieve as a photographer. However, I ensure to have the following principles in place when I run my business:
I buy as much as possible second hand cameras or lenses produced by companies with strict environmental policies in place.
I use rechargeable batteries and keep my electrical consumption to the minimum.
When I need to change my equipment I repurpose my old equipment as a backup or sell it second hand.
I will now use a fully electric car for my jobs, so I can reduce my carbon footprint.
These won’t make my business green, but will allow me to do my bit to save the world for future generations.
I’ve recently partnered with Lovingreen.uk, a website that puts together sustainable services in West London to promote switching to more sustainable alternatives to everyday lifestyle choices.
